We’ve put together a few key details to help you prepare for Run West - from registration and race day logistics to general event info. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to get in touch.
BEFORE THE RUN
When is Run West?
Run West takes place over the weekend of the 25 - 27 September 2026. Race Day is the 26 September 2026.
When do entries close?
Entries close on the 10 September 2026.
Do you require a medical certificate to participate in the Event?
We don't need a medical certificate but please read through the indemnity and waivers carefully.
When and where does registration take place?
Registration takes place on 25 September 2026. Strandfontein Campsite between 9am - 9pm. All runners will need to sign in to get their race numbers - nobody may collect on your behalf.
ON THE DAY
Are the routes marked?
Our routes are clearly marked with yellow & red flags & yellow boards with black arrows as well as Marshalls on each major turning point. Each course has it’s own GPX file on the route pages if you wish to download.
What should I bring to the race?
While most running gear will suffice, we recommend:
- A waterproof jacket
- A whistle
- 1Lt of water with you
- Fully charged cellphone, an emergency contact number will be listed on your race bib
Are dogs or pets allowed during the course of the Event?
Unfortunately, no dogs or other pets are allowed during the course of the event. Please keep your dogs on a lead if you bring them to the campsite.
When and where will the prize giving be held?
The prize giving will take place at Fryer's Cove on the 26 September 2026 at 11am.

Is there a cut-off time for the races?
Yes all races have a cut-off time of 1pm.
Where can I book accommodation?
You can book accommodation with:

If I can't make the race, can I get a refund of my race entry?
Unfortunately we have a no refund policy but your contribution goes a long way in supporting various West Coast Organisations in their quest to protect our coastline.
Is someone else allowed to run in my place?
We're sad you can't make it but unfortunately with our indemnity and waivers in place we can't allow it.
